Whoa, that was a long comment. Well thanks for it I'll say?

About your arguments, to be honest the Linux community being so set against negative arguments is annoying. You're telling me I'm wrong, I need proof that I am, because most users can't really give me alternatives to what I need, and the best most plausible arguments I've ever heard was "well it sounds like Linux isn't for you, and that's fine".

You say that running software on your computer means you're doing it wrong, call me old-fashioned, but I still do install a bunch of software. What about productivity apps, or editing apps? I use a good chunk of the Adobe suite and often professionally, and if I didn't have it it'd be an issue for me. I'd be willing to swap Adobe for something better, if it existed. All these apps running in the cloud is actually a bit annoying, I'm not a huge fan of Office in the browser because features are missing and it's not as comfortable, for instance.

I don't think choice is bad, but the confusion can be a barrier to entry for some. I know that I find the idea of many distros interesting, but I know that I'd also like to simply pick the first "main" thing and run it. Call it users being groomed with the Microsoft/Apple convenience.

I'm not necessarily looking for an argument, as in I'm not looking to fight. I just really wish I could get something that's a bit more user friendly, because for some, that really can be difficult. Thanks for your comprehensive input otherwise!
