Oh yeah I haven't trusted in physical hardware in years and for some reason it's done me a world of good because hardware seems to last longer now. Like you said, nowadays cloud computing is where it's at. Still, there are some things done locally, even if data are backed up on the cloud.

I'm sorry, I'm afraid I'm not sure what you mean when you say "fat" in this context. And yeah, when I say the average user, I mean someone who buys a new laptop every few years, and who just has one or two device/machine at home.
