Nope, it does not at all. From experience, I’m not entirely sure how the algorithm works, as in, I don’t know how many comments, claps and reads it takes for an article to get distributed properly. It seems to me that only articles from people with a large following actually get recommended, that and articles from whomever you follow. But editors not giving you that boost doesn’t count negatively. It’s more that, just like anyone who would, say, either see your article on medium and not click on it, or click on it but read it but either not entirely or without interacting with it, it’s just a wasted opportunity to have someone give you this „boost” so the algorithm knows „ah yes, people are interacting with this one, let’s push it further”. Basically any reader engaging helps, and if readers don’t engage then it just doesn’t get pushed further. But editors don’t count more or less or differently than regular readers.
