Mate. Keep your condescension to yourself before I end up deleting your comment, people on the internet really do think they have the right to be rude because they get none of the consequences they would if they had said it to someone's face in real life.
Second, the argument that Gimp is a good replacer for Photoshop is simply wrong, and most photoshop users will tell you it isn't a favorable option. Yet a lot of people, among them Linux users, like to use it as an argument not because it's true but because it supports their cause of spreading Linux around as much as possible. And when you tell them it isn't true, they take offense, because they don't care about the veracity of the argument, they only care about the goal it serves, to push Linux forward, because people prefer it to other options. Well if people want to promote Linux, they're gonna have to wake up to the barrier to entry that exists, because I literally WANT to convert to Linux, but it's a struggle because some crucial tools are missing. If a professional equivalent as good as Photoshop arose, I would be the first one to convert.
And to dismiss people's concerns, and the reality and validity of their thoughts, experiences and claims is what gaslighting is about, I know exactly how to use this word thank you very much, and for you to somehow act like I don't, despite my having a valid point, somehow makes this worse and even more ironic.
