I didn't know corporations were involved in developing Linux, the way it's presented everywhere is that Linux is ran by volunteers and so doesn't get much funding, which would correlate with how behind it is compared to commercial solutions.
I like that with Linux you know the ins and outs of the OS, but what I don't like is that this can come with some inconveniences. In the end, I'm not opposed to Linux at all, just its barriers to entry that may deter someone like me. And trust me, there's tons more people who wouldn't even bother to even research the subject the teeniest bit.
