I certainly wasn't saying this to upset you or make you feel attacked.
No, what I really believe, is that there's a thin line between thinking in a way that's realistic, vs giving up on what one wants because one believes it's impossible or unachievable.
Too often when people talk about realism, they really just mean, give up on what you want. But the whole point of finding a realistic solution, is to find a way to do what you want, to get what you want, like you who says you write and create art, which is a pretty ideal thing to do (at least I'm assuming that's what you do for a living).
We do need realism, but knowing that companies are genuinely problematic, then what do you believe one should do with this fact as a starting point? Because an answer that would involve "suck it up", isn't particularly better.
