Well of course, there's no point in writing about things that aren't us. What we create is always a manifestation of us, and an outpouring of our own mind, as I call it. People are misguided and mistaken when they believe that writing about things they don't personally associate with works. So I'm glad for your first fiction boosted story, it's a step in the right direction. I wonder if it was selected because it was found at random, or because you pitched it to a nominator that you know/a publication that knows you?
